Draining Above Ground Pool Water. Replacing the liner the most urgent reason to drain an above ground pool is when you find leaks or tears in the liner. Remove the cap in your intex framed pool set. Start draining the water.
You can use a submersible pump or siphon the water out with a garden hose. Replacing or removing the pool well of course you need to completely drain the pool when you want to remove it.
Plan where the water will go.
Above ground swimming pools hold their shape due to water. Start draining the water. I personally recommend using a combination of the two because siphoning is pretty fast but a pump will help remove that last foot or so of water that the siphon can t quite get to. If you have an above ground pool with a vinyl pool liner drain the pool to about 1 inch below the bottom of the skimmer mouth.
